Epinions State of the Art

by  RichBoston,  Apr 8, 2001
Pros: Expansion Slot, Reasonably Priced Color, Updated Palm OS, New Apps
Cons: Needs An Enhanced, Brighter Color Screen Without Sacrificing Battery Life
The Bottom Line: State of the art. The only "fault" I can really find is the brightness of the screen and I suspect that was a tradeoff for longer battery life.
Review: Through retail sources I’ve had the opportunity to use the new Palm m500 and m505 the past couple of weeks in advance of general distribution. The m505 is scheduled for retail sale starting in May while the Palm m500 is on a slightly earlier schedule on...

Epinions Too much power for the palm of your hand!

by  selfhi5,  Jul 23, 2001
Pros: Expandable, Internet-Capable in Brilliant Color
Cons: None!
The Bottom Line: This brand new product from the company that brought Palm Pilots I-V is sure to knock your socks off, and no function was forgotten when creating this masterpiece!
Review: The Palm M505 handheld with rich 65,000 color support is customizable thanks to two expansion features. The standard secure Digital/MultiMediaCard slot and the Palm Universal Connector let you add storage, applications, content, and add-ons, like a...

Epinions Palm m505 - the best yet...

by  msmasitti,  Aug 23, 2001
Pros: Slim/Lightweight, Color Screen, Rechargeable, USB, Palm OS 4, Expansion
Cons: Slight dim screen, no hardware for SD/MMC clot
The Bottom Line: The m505 is the perfect PDA, with a good color screen and slim, good looking design, I highly recommend it!
Review: The Palm m505 is what I believe to be the best, or one of the best, Palm OS devices. The m505 has a modern, redefined Vx look, and while keeping it in a tiny package, have added an extra expansion slot as well as a color screen! Many more minor and major...

Epinions Organize Me Baby!

by  kaysi,  Aug 13, 2001
Pros: USB Cradle, Color Screen, Expansion Slots, Sleek and Small.
Cons: Price of $449.
The Bottom Line: Great choice in an ever-expanding market.
Review: I finally broke down and bought a Palm after much debate (with myself) about whether I really needed one. I have a desktop AND a laptop already after all. Now that I’ve done it, I think, “Who cares if I really need it or not… I love having it and it...

Epinions Palm M505--Color My World, This Thing is Great

by  glacier,  Aug 28, 2001
Pros: Great form factor, good expansion and color, ergonomic.
Cons: No brightness control, minor difficulty with expansion card, delicate hotsync connection.
The Bottom Line: The best PDA in the color 'space' today, for reasons I specify in this review.
Review: My days using a Handspring Visor Deluxe are coming to an end, thanks to my testing of this precious PDA.

I've got to say up front that this PDA is about as good as it gets in the Palm OS flavors. And although I do have some minor concerns...

Epinions Give me the 505

by  raven190,  Sep 1, 2001
Pros: Size, color abilities, expandable, sleek design.
Cons: Screen could be a little brighter.
The Bottom Line: This is my entry into the PDA world and the m505 has proved its worth.
Review: I'd never used a handheld before I bought the palm m505. (Playing an occasional game on someone else's handheld doesn't count.) So this review may seem basic to more experienced users. If you're new to PDAs like I am, I've tried to include useful...

Epinions Don't Judge a Palm by its Screen

by  droolin,  May 12, 2001
Pros: Small, stylish form factor; long battery life; expansion capabilities; USB cradle included; bonus software
Cons: screen just a little dim but not bad
The Bottom Line: It's the PDA to use for those wanting color. Period.
Review: I, myself, am a IIIc user and upon hearing of a SMALLER, shinier Palm in COLOR, I was very excited. Additionally, 8 MB on my IIIc was reaching the point of insufficiency so the SD/MMC card expansion of the m505 was even more tempting for me.

Epinions The non-idiot's dream

by  ndoggnumber9,  Jul 18, 2001
Pros: Screen darn it! Size. Color. Expansion. Price darn it!
Cons: Requires you to be relatively smart to make it work properly.
The Bottom Line: Read it, it's a rant about why I believe certain aspects of this Palm that have been argued against are so darn good.
Review: I have to explain my title of course. This review is not to give you a complete run-down of the m505, as there are countless others that do good all-in-one reviews. No, no, no. This review is only to explain why I believe some of the things hated about...

Epinions Still the champ

by  andrewmk99,  Oct 3, 2002
Pros: Size, scalability, battery life, price, Sleek look Way cheaper than 515 or Pocket PC
Cons: Screen could have adjustable brightness Basic colors are a bit washed out
The Bottom Line: Pocket PC's have a long way to go in making them an efficient user platform. Palm's are unique and appreciate its simplicity and scalablity to your needs
Review: What makes me interesting is that I originally had a pocket PC (Jornada 525) and decided to give Palm a try. I had to have color but was turned off by the price of the 515 and didn't like the IIIc or M130. Ounce for ounce the M505 is the best value in...

Epinions Mac Friendly

by  tc2001,  Aug 10, 2001
Pros: Slim; Palm OS; Reliable; Cool-looking; Mac Friendly
Cons: Screen could be brighter; Need more memory; Not compatible with Palm V accessories
The Bottom Line: Good unit. Go buy one. If you are a Mac user, you're better off with an m505 than a Sony or Handspring.
Review: This is probably my 3rd Palm Pilot. And my nth PDA.

This Palm Pilot has everything you need. And the fact that it has an expandable slot, it opens the possibility for more features. The biggest dilemma for me is finding a truly USEFUL...
