Epinions Treo, PDA/Cell Phone: Any Technophile's Dream System

by  charles,  Dec 14, 2006
Pros: Capabilities, great features, battery duration, Web Access, Built-in Digital camera and installed memory
Cons: Rebooting and notifying
The Bottom Line: The new Treo 680 is what you need to be on the road. Its features are great and one of a kind tech wonder.
Review: If you are like me, then you may have secretly placed the PDA/Cell Phone on your wishlist this year. After all, it is a technological wonder. The Palm Treo 680 Smartphone comes equipped with so many little gadgets that will awe you. I know I have been ...

Epinions Be nice to it and it just might work for you.

by  vandiik,  Jan 16, 2008
Pros: All in one, and it works for me.
Cons: Battery life.
The Bottom Line: If you need Palm OS, you can make this phone work nicely for you. If you don't need Palm OS, maybe Nokia, Blackberry or iPhone is a better choice.
Review: I'm writing this review because I think the Treo 680 has been unfairly judged by some with little or no Palm OS background. Imagine a Toyota Camry driver assessing old Jaguar autos. You can imagine them shaking their heads and saying "Unreliable." ...

Epinions The Palm Treo is a lifesaver.

by  famofsix,  Mar 4, 2008
Pros: Easy to use, Great calendar, video camera
Cons: Not easy to download ringtones
The Bottom Line: I love my Treo and would buy it over and over again if I needed to.
Review: Being a busy mom on the go, I needed a calendar to keep me in order and a way to organize my lists and everyday life. I don't usually carry a big purse, so I wanted all of this in a phone so I didn't have to carry a lot of stuff. I decided on the ...

Epinions Treo 680, Worth the Change?

by  zzglobal,  Aug 12, 2007
Pros: Lots of third party applications, better audio and great memory space.
Cons: Battery life could be better. Cheap frontal face material which cracks with no abuse
Review: As a 650 user I decided to make the change. The 650 had many issues, like constant rebooting and all the other complaints many users had. Physically the 680 is very nice, ironically it is not as good as the 650 for one handed operation. My 680 has not ...

Epinions Treo 680 Smart Phone

by  bobthib,  Mar 30, 2008
Pros: Size, weight, OS. Call log. 4 gig SD and 64 MB memory. P-Tunes basic.
Cons: Slow OS, Disappointing battery life, integration 650 software, limited or unavailable Bluetooth Features .
The Bottom Line: fair implementation of a great the Palm OS. OK for those who need basic integrated PDA and cell phone functionality. Integrates to both Widows and Mac PCs great.
Review: This is a long, but I hope informative and objective, review of the Treo 680. First, I have been a Palm OS user and proponent since the Palm Pilot in the mid 90's. I have been a huge fan of the simple yet powerful OS that, since the beginning, has ...

Epinions Almost ready as a Treo 650 replacement.

by  hightesthome,  May 11, 2007
Pros: Plenty of memory space. Signal strength better than 650 yet more compact.
Cons: Two software issues that need to be fixed quickly.
The Bottom Line: Hold onto your Treo 650 a little longer, Palm promises updates soon though.
Review: I've owned several smart phones over the last couple of years. Recently I'd migrated from the Treo 650 to the new Treo 680. I don't regret my decision, but I do feel that the product needs to mature a little further before I recommend other 650 owners ...

Epinions Treo 680 from Cingular

by  txdiogenes,  Nov 30, 2006
Pros: great shape and no antennae. I like the voice memo
Cons: Signal seems weaker than 650. not happy about having to do the returns.
Review: Treo appears to have great features that PalmOS users have come to expect. I bought mine from Cingular the day that they arrived in my local cingular store. I have had to return two of them and am on my third one. The first was locked up and would not ...

Epinions Why Palm/Treo is a Dying Idea

by  univers,  Jan 7, 2007
Pros: Appearance is nice. 3rd party software/accessories excellent.
Cons: Browser performance insufferable. Operating system stodgy. Keyboard difficult to use. Included software archaic.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this device. It is obsolete.
Review: When was the last time you considered a Palm/Treo? As cell phones converge, the personal information manager (as a stand-alone device) is dying as well. The concept of a personal information manager, indeed the whole bases for the Palm operating system ...

Epinions Disappointing

by  szneimer,  May 24, 2008
Pros: Light, good design.
Cons: Expensive, freezes, slow.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy the product. It is a very disappointing product. It can place you in danger if you need to dial 911 and it freezes.
Review: I have been a fan of Palm since they began making smartphones. With every new product, I saw improvements. I had a Handspring, a Palm, and a Treo. I bought the Treo 680 because it was the only one that was unlocked and could work with T-Mobile. ...

Epinions Biggest mistake yet…

by  rachelleew,  Jan 6, 2008
Pros: Easy to use, great software, easy to connect to PC
Cons: Screen cracks VERY easily, system freezes
The Bottom Line: I would not take another one if it was given to me. Stay away from this cheaply built PDA.
Review: I got the Treo 680 as a replacement for a stolen Blackberry from Cingular. At first I was impressed. It seemed to work well. It did freeze occasionally, which was a pain. Other than that I was happy with it. The bliss was short lived though. After ...
