Epinions What an Americano dreams of being

by  Guildencrantz,  Dec 8, 2005
Pros: Great coffee from an automatic machine at a reasonable price.
Cons: It's being discontinued.
The Bottom Line: Watching the Krups Moka Brew carafe fill absolutely enthralls The Bottom Line.
Review: Some times it's hard to be a foodie on a budget; while I didn't have a huge problem with cooking (the only "expensive" piece of equipment I had to buy myself is my m ixer, th e knives ...

Epinions Worth All the Extra Effort

by  cuculuain,  Dec 23, 2007
Pros: Elegant design. Produces dark, rich and flavorful brew.
Cons: Time consuming production and cleaning processes.
The Bottom Line: Purchase this excellent machine if you are serious about making and enjoying good coffee. The time and money invested are well worth it!
Review: There are, basically, four elements to making a decent cup of coffee: good water, quality coffee, the proper ratio of water to coffee, and finally, proper grind to brewing method. Forgo any one of these and risk disappointment. Over my coffee consuming ...

Epinions Great alternative to DRIP coffee makers

by  eworinkrv,  Jun 13, 2005
Pros: Great coffee Compact size Attractive design & appearance
Cons: More set up & clean effort Filters are harder to find Little or no aroma
The Bottom Line: Great coffee from a quirky, compact machine.
Review: A friend of mine suggested the Krups Moka Brew F468 Coffee Maker to me. I’d been happy with a Krups Aroma Control drip coffee maker. Now, I only use that when I have a bunch of people over where it’s stainless thermos and larger capacity (12 cups vs. 8) ...

Epinions Krups Moka

by  exoo,  Jun 23, 2005
Pros: Deep, rich, aromatic brew recalling French bistros more than McDonald's or even Tim Horton.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Hard to believe that the same coffee beans can taste so different. In the Krups Aroma Plus they are flat; in the Mokka, a universe of flavor subtlety has opened.
Review: Coffee makers fascinate me. The past fifteen years have been split between two Krups Aroma Plus units with thermal carafes, plus an occasional press pot. I have found vastly superior the depth of flavor with Bodum press pots. They do very well for ...

Epinions Rich, aromatic, flavorful coffee!

by  zigzagmolly,  Aug 25, 2005
Pros: Simple to use and clean Makes fantastic coffee!
Cons: Would like the on/off switch to automatically go off
The Bottom Line: An excellent coffee maker. Better than drip, if you want a strong cup of coffee without the bitterness.
Review: I started home roasting my own coffee in March and bought a new Zojirushi drip coffee maker with carafe to celebrate. I love the coffee, but couldn't get it strong enough with the drip machine and with the carafe, I couldn't smell the coffee brewing. ...

Epinions Moka Brew is proving itself

by  geobrian,  Nov 2, 2005
Pros: Good design, easy to operate and clean, makes excellent coffee.
Cons: None so far.
Review: Skeptical at first, I thought the design might not hold up well for everyday use, every day. But I've had mine for over a year now and so far so good! In fact, it still looks and works like new. Before purchasing it, I compared this machine to Braun's ...

Epinions Interesting and Difficult

by  xmasrat,  Jan 19, 2006
Pros: Good cup of Joe for the American taste and a unique (spiffy and different) design
Cons: A poor filter design and inability to clean and keep dry the unit's heating base
The Bottom Line: I'm keeping mine and persevering with its mess. It makes a good cup of coffee and quite a conversation piece. Watch out as I hear it might be discontinued.
Review: I purchased mine from PC Plus for the lowest price I could find at $45. It came quickly and, as advertised, it was brand new not refurbished. It makes a strong cup of coffee not as strong as an espresso or pressure relief value Moka makers because it ...

by  beckieb,  Oct 5, 2005
Pros: good taste, nice and hot, easy to use, good value for the money, looks cool
Cons: no automatic timer, filters somewhat difficult and expensive to obtain
Review: Have had my new machine for two weeks now.Love the fact that I don't get warm coffee,it's hot when it's done.Flavor is good, though I had hoped this one would need less grounds than a drip but so far that hasn't been the case. The only drawback are the ...

Epinions Killing my fondness for coffee, one pot at a time...

by  knotheadusc,  Apr 8, 2008
Pros: Makes very good coffee. Looks cool.
Cons: Also makes a mess. Expensive, labor intensive, inconvenient.
The Bottom Line: This coffee maker is strictly for coffee snobs who don't mind cleaning up messes.
Review: A few months ago, my husband Bill and I were in the market for a new coffee maker. We had just moved into our rented house in Germany and we needed to replace some of the small appliances we left behind in the States. Bill is a coffee snob. He loves ...

Epinions Could be dangerous.

by  frednotginger,  Jan 13, 2006
Pros: NONE. Too many problems when trying to brew a pot.
Cons: Dangerous. Too much steam surrounds in the unit.
Review: Can't recommend this coffee maker. I have had too many bad experiences with it. One of three things happen when I brew a fresh pot of coffee. Note: I always center and secure the pot., then either: 1. It brews a pot of coffee correctly or 2. steam starts ...
