New Version of an Old classic

Counterstrike.

Anyone who plays PC Shooting games is likely to have at least tried this hit multiplayer game that is the basis for the "Source" Version.

To clarify, the "Source" Version runs using the newer Half Life 2 engine, meaning it has updated grapics, and playability.

Essentially it is the same game that started as a modification made by players to the original Half Life.

The game consists of 2 teams, "Terrorists" and "Counter-Terrorists". Fighting against each other to either plant or disarm bombs on key targets, or the hold or save hostages. Most games play rounds with short time limits to force people to actually accomplish or fail at the objective.

A round is usually a fast a furious affair of gunfire and hand grenades, but can sometimes degenerate into a game of cat and mouse, with only one or two players on each team left alive, hunting each other or, hiding in strategic, but unorthodox places.

The player base for this ONLINE game is to say the least, Horrible as a majority. While the game itself doesn't sport much blood or profanity, the players do. Players have voice chat support built into the game, (quite nice, for mature players) But the more immature players of the game, simply use it to spout profanities at each other constantly. Also, the game supports people creating custom "sprays" to put on walls in-game, unfortuanately, they can also put pornographic images in those custom "sprays". The other major concern is for newer players, the game is extremely unfriendly. As a new player you will likely have absolutely no chance of scoring points. To add to the problem, new players are often harrassed or kicked from games due to teams not liking the easy points to go to the other team.

While the game is great as a game, the community has many many problems. Dropping the greatness a great deal.
